WITPOORT/LEPHALALE — Three cases of culpable homicide were opened at Witpoort and Lephalale Police Stations respectively on Saturday 2 June.
On Saturday around 22:50, Sekabata Cray Mokoena (30) lost control over and overturned his vehicle on the Tshelammake-Kauletsi Road.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster Spokesperson, Mokoena as well as his passenger were seriously injured and taken to Witpoort Hospital for medical treatment, however, Mokoena passed away at around 02:00 on Sunday 3 June.
A case of culpable homicide was opened at Witpoort SAPS.
In another incident on Saturday night around 21:41, the driver of a blue Toyota Tazz with registration number DPN 044L, lost control of the vehicle between Shongoane 3 and Abbotspoort. One person died on the scene and five people sustained serious injuries and were taken to Witpoort Hospital. A case of culpable homicide was opened at Witpoort SAPS.
A third case of culpable homicide was opened on Saturday after Mphago Mosima (36) was hit by an unknown vehicle on the road between Stockpoort and Mmamojela Park (R510) around 20:00. She was walking alone and the driver of the vehicle drove away.
A case of culpable homicide was opened at Lephalale SAPS.
