LEPHALALE — The 33 year old Albert Nkgobane Mojela from Steilloop (Thabaletshoba) and Wilfred Mojela Manana (also 33) from Bochum (Gammankgodi village) were each sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on a charge of stock theft as well as a five year suspended sentence in Lephalale’s Regional Court last week.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, the men were arrested on 11 June 2016 after they stole cattle on Peerboom Farm near Lephalale Town. They appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court after their first arrest and were granted bail of R500 each.
The value of the stolen cattle is R20 000.
The investigation officer on the case was Sergeant Danie Erasmus.
