TOM BURKE — Tom Burke Police are investigating a case of inquest after a 16-year-old boy, Joseph Majola, drowned after going swimming with friends.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged that he drowned on Sunday 17 February around 18:00 in the Mmakgodu dam in Sefihlogo Village. One of his friends who went swimming with him notified his family about his death.
It is also alleged that the water pump of the dam where the boy drowned, which is built in the middle of a camp away from the village, was recently fixed. It was dry for a long time but full of water at the time of the incident.
Majola’s family as well as many role players attended the scene.
