LEPHALALE — 18 TVET College students from Mokopane appeared in Lephalale Magistrates Court last week on a charge of public violence after SAPS members and others were injured during a riot last Wednesday.
They were granted R1 000 bail each with certain conditions: The accused should not enter Lephalale TVET College and they have to check in at their nearest police station, namely Mahwelereng SAPS, between 06:00 and 18:00 every day starting on 13 May 2016.
According to W.O. Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, one of the suspects was still in the police holding cells as the management of TVET opened another case of malicious damage to property against him and his bail was withdrawn.
The case is postponed to 30 May 2016.
