SHONGOANE — Ramaphala Malesela Jones (63) from Shongoane has been sentenced to two life sentences on Tuesday 13 February in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court.
The heavy sentence is the result of a series of rapes that were committed during 2009 and 2012.
His victims include a one year old baby and a 39 year old mentally handicapped woman who subsequently died after the ordeal.
Lieutenant General Neke Ledwaba, Limpopo Police Commissioner, applauded the various teams working on criminal cases – especially the team at the female and sexual offences unit for a stunningly well accomplished job.
“As Police, we promise that we shall always ensure that girls and women are protected – especially from hyenas like this,” General Ledwaba concluded.
