TOM BURKE — Another suspect who can be linked with the farm attack and murder on the farm Dale on 21 March this year was arrested in Rustenburg over the weekend.
According to Sakkie Louwrens of the Heritage Protection Group (HPG), a specialist investigation unit, the suspect was arrested by Police and taken to Tom Burke police station.
The suspect, Innocent Khumalo, appeared in the Phalala Magistrate’s Court on Friday, November 9, and the case was postponed to 20 November 2018 when he will appear together with the other four suspects on charges of murder, attempted murder (x2) and robbery.
At the time of going to print, the five suspects were still in custody at the Tom Burke police holding cells.
The late Jasper von Kleist, farm manager of the farm Dale, was fatally wounded on Wednesday night 21 March 2018 after suspects first shot Charlie Solomon (son of Nico Solomon, owner of the farm) and injured him.
The suspects then went to Von Kleist’s home where his girlfriend Sonja Joubert was also injured.
One of the farm workers, two suspects who were part of the planning, as well as the driver of the vehicle with which the suspects fled the scene had been arrested in connection with the incident by HPG.
