Six suspects between the ages of 24 and 42 were arrested during a special Police operation conducted on 23 and 24 November. The operations were conducted by members of the Limpopo Highway Patrol (LHP), Crime Intelligence, the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and the Vehicle Investigation Unit (VCIU). The suspects were arrested for a series of criminal activities, including armed robberies, dealing in drugs, murder, and theft of a motor vehicle.
On 24 November, a 42-year-old man was arrested in Onverwacht in the Lephalale Policing area for dealing in and possession of drugs. The arrest was made by members of Lephalale Crime Intelligence and Lephalale Public Order Police Units.
The suspect, a Nigerian citizen, was found in possession of three bags of CAT, 77 bags of Christal Meth, cash, two scales and smoking pipes.
In the Modimolle Policing area, members of the Vehicle Investigation Unit arrested one suspect for theft of a motor vehicle and recovered a stolen truck abandoned after it was robbed from the owner at Hammanskraal.
In another operation in Modimolle, a suspect was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle after he was found in possession of a Toyota Yaris. The Yaris was reported stolen in Johannesburg.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has commended the Police for their continuous commitment in the fight against criminal activities across the Province.
The suspects will appear before different magistrate courts.
