ABSA employee sentenced

LEPHALALE — Itumeleng Letsie, a 30-year-old employee of Absa Bank in Lephalale, was sentenced to five years imprisonment on charges of theft in Lephalale Regional Court on 19 September.
She was arrested on 16 September for doing unauthorized transactions to her family and friends. The transactions were for amounts varying between R500 and R5 000 for up to a maximum of three transactions per month.
W.O. Frans Mokeona, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, says Itumeleng has been given a grace period until 30 September 2016 to pay back an amount of R55 000 or alternatively to serve five years in prison.
