LEPHALALE — A World Aids Day Awareness event was held for the staff of Ellisras District Hospital on Wednesday 5 December at the lapa on the hospital premises.
A very informative drama was presented and the causes of HIV, the attached stigma and correct treatment were highlighted in an informative and entertaining manner.
Dr Mufamadi, provided frightening statistics and she delivered a well-received talk on the importance of testing for HIV, passing on knowledge and adhering to a treatment regime. She also emphasized the importance of a positive mind-set.
AIDS Ambassador, Lizzy Debakker, emphasized the importance of taking medicine and to receive treatment.
She emphasized that AIDS is not a death sentence and that people must take responsibility for their own health. She received a standing ovation.
The vote of thanks was done by Mr Baloyi.
