LEPHALALE — It is hard to believe that Aloe Day Spa at the Palm Park Hotel has only been in business for three months. In this short time they got it right and have been announced as the Spalicious Up and Coming Spa 2017.
Mogol Post asked Marisa Dimitriadis, Managing Director at Spa Consultants, what their criteria are when considering candidates for the best Up and Coming Spa.
“Spa Consultants host an Annual Awards Ceremony where they award the top achievers in the Spa and Salon Beauty Industry. These Spa Consultants are manufacturers and distributors of two of SA leading professional Spa and Salon brands called SIX Sensational Skincare and Spalicious with over 350 stockists countrywide. The stockists are only beauty salons and spas” she said.
She explained that the judging criteria for the best Up and Coming Spa are as follows; a new stockist (18 months or less), how good the training is and how passionate they are about brands. The judges also did two mystery guest evaluations – one by visiting the spa and one telephonic evaluation.
Aloe Day Spa was one of ten nominees. The others were The Nail Factor (Musgrave) in KZN, Cleopatra Beauty (KZN, Spoilt Green Eco Spa (KZN), Cathedral Peak Wellness Spa (KZN), Silver Forest Boutique Lodge & Spa (Western Cape), Bliss Beauty (Western Cape), Dunkled Spa at Go Touch Down Resorts (Mpumalanga), Suntaluna Spa and Gelli (both in Gauteng). Aloe Day Spa was the only nominee from Limpopo.
Arona Rossouw, business woman and owner of Aloe Day Spa, says it was a huge surprise to them and they didn’t expect it at all. “That is one of the reasons why we didn’t attend the Gala Dinner and Award Function” she said.
“We are humbled by being awarded after such a short period of time and we strive to always provide the very best professional service to our clients. A sincere word of thanks to the team at Aloe Day Spa for their professional work ethics. And last but not least – a special word of thanks to the public – without them none of this would have been possible” Arona says.
