On Thursday 26 November, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her 29-year-old boyfriend at Ga-Rapadi Village in the early morning hours.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Police spokesperson, it is reported that the man drinking at a local tavern when his girlfriend arrived there and requested to talk to him.
They left the tavern and an argument ensued between the two of them. The man allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the woman in her upper body three times. She then fell to the ground and was certified dead on the scene.
The man reportedly ran away. Some community members who witnessed the incident went after him, but he managed to escape from them.
The people inside the tavern say they could not hear what the argument was about.
The suspect, Mpho Silas Manaka, gave himself over to the police in Villa Nora on Friday 27 November and he was arrested.
A murder case was opened.
