GA-SELEKA — Lephalale SAPS is urgently looking for Lerato Johanna Ncube (15) in order to follow up a kidnapping case.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena from Lephalale SAPS, Lerato recently opened a case of kidnapping at Modimolle SAPS after she and her friend, Emily Motsamai (14) were allegedly kidnapped by unknown men on Saturday 3 June 2017.
According to the police report, Lerato said in her statement that she and Emily were playing “diketo” next to an Indian Shop in Dark City Village in Ga-Seleka on Saturday 3 June around 13:00 when a White VW Polo with two unknown men stopped next to them. The men allegedly offered the girls a lift into Lephalale Town to buy clothes for them.
Mokoena says after a while the girls realised that they had driven past town and when they asked the men where they were heading they were told to shut up. The men stopped the car in a place unknown to the girls and their hands were tied up.
According to Lerato they were later taken to a “shack”, and then to a brick house where they were told to go home.
Lerato said none of them knew where they were and the two of them split up and went in different directions to try to find their homes.
Lerato furthermore stated that she walked for five days without knowing where she was and on Friday 9 June a man on a bicycle stopped and asked her where she was going. She told him and he took her to his house where his mother gave her something to eat. The mother said to the man to take Lerato to Modimolle SAPS so that she could open a case and give a statement.
The case was transferred to Lephalale SAPS and they don’t know how to get hold of Lerato or her family.
Lerato is a Grade 8 learner in Raserite High School.
Anyone with any information on where Lerato or her parents are, can contact Sgt Kwena Ramahuta on 071 355 0557.
