LEPHALALE — On Saturday 26 October auditions were held for “Mine”, an upcoming movie that will be shot in Lephalale. More than 50 local aspiring actors attended the auditions, held at Lephalale TVET College. Twenty-one of them went through.
According to the creator of the movie, Jeanette Monyeki, the auditions were a confirmation of the creativity among Lephalale residents.
She says she values creativity and the youth very much, and this is one of the reasons behind the movie concept.
According to her, Limpopo, in general, doesn’t get as much media coverage as some of the other provinces.
“I want to change that, and I would like to see artists coming from Lephalale to take over the country, and I want to inspire people in any way I can to work hard and show their talent.
I also would like to thank everyone who managed to audition. I want to help you live your passion for art and to be happy,” she said.
The production team indicated that the shooting of “Mine” would start in Onverwacht in December this year. The storyline will focus on a girl who has been through rough times in a relationship.
