LEPHALALE — Drive, passion and a goal orientated mind has seen Lephalale FM’s Afternoon Drive show host, Thabo “Catchvibe” Moatshe, being nominated for the 2016 Limpopo FAME awards for Best Radio Personality in the Community Radio Category.
Moatshe (29) who hails from Mohlasedi Village in Ga-Seleka on the outskirts of Lephalale said that he is very humbled, blessed and lucky that his craft is being noticed. Being nominated alongside other radio presenters in the province is a privilege and an honour he said.
“I feel lucky to be nominated alongside the best of the best in Limpopo radio medium, it’s all hard work, passion and drive that got me this far, and the love of keeping the community of Lephalale entertained and informed as they drive back from work to their respective destinations” Moatshe said.
He added that he finds joy in putting a smile on a person’s face, be it via radio or through his Catchvibe Initiatives (CI) through which he has managed to touch many lives, including the lives of young women in school via his “Pads me up campaign”, a campaign which he says he holds dear.
Moatshes’ radio journey started when he was a guest co-presenter at Mokopane FM back in 2011. He was also featured on Thobela FMs Youth Show named Moswa le Bokamoso, and also did a gig-guide on the After Party show. Since then he has never looked back and his love for radio has just gained momentum and remained unshakeable.
The 18th July was his birthday and asked his fans and followers, which he says are his family, to not send him birthday presents but rather to vote for him, so that he can bring the award home to the people of Lephalale.
“I really want to bring this home and I am pleading that people vote for me so that I can win. People can vote by sms’ing 57 to 47052 and every effort will be highly appreciated” said the 29 year old.
The FAME awards will be held on the 7th of August in Polokwane and you can catch Moatshe every Monday to Friday on Lephalale FM from 15:00 – 18:00!
The second edition of the Films, Arts, Music and Entertainment (F.A.M.E) Awards aimed at celebrating the outstanding performances of entertainers in the Limpopo province.
