Bags Full of Love

LEPHALALE — The Bags Full of Love project is a CSI initiative by the Moolman Group, co-owner of Lephalale Mall.
The project started in 2012 with one centre and three schools where 600 bags were decorated. In 2015 the project grew bigger with five shopping centres and 12 primary schools, hundreds of learners participating, and thousands of Bags Full of Love – some 4 396 thousand bags to be exact. The objective of this project is to get involved in the community and give focussed financial assistance to local schools.
Laerskool Bosveld Primary and Laerskool Ellisras in Lephalale, Nelsonskop Primary in Marapong and Poulos Mosima Primary in Washersvlei were approached to take part in the project. White paper shopping bags and boxes full of stationery were delivered to the schools for decorating, after which these colourful bags cheered up Lephalale Mall’s passages as festive décor. The remainder of the stationery was donated to the respective schools. Each pupil was rewarded with a free cool drink or ice cream for their hard work and six winners per school received cash prizes for the most beautifully decorated bag.
A wish list was obtained from each school to ensure long term impact on real and lasting change to the value of R20 000. Lephalale Mall would like to thank the principals, teachers and students who were involved in this project. They would also like to thank their generous sponsors whom they owe the success of this project to.
