LEPHALALE — Mediclinic Lephalale’s Emergency Unit (ER/Casualty) is managed by Incontrol Health Solutions under management of Dr SC Mphelo, who is supported by Drs K Masemola and K Bapela.
Dr Mphelo and his team recently completed their Advanced Trauma Courses. This means they are now fully trained in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
They ask the community to keep the following in mind:
- Patients visiting the ER are charged based on the triage system, i.e. green, yellow, orange and red. Triage is a process of quickly examining patients in emergency units in order to decide which ones are in the most serious condition so that they can be treated first.
The patient’s symptoms and the patient’s medical history, will determine in which colour group the patient is – green, yellow, orange and red. The colours indicate the severity of the patient’s condition.
- During office hours, between 08:00 until 17:00 from Monday to Friday, patients with minor ailments have the option to see the General Practitioner on duty in the consultation room and no hospital emergency fee or co-payment will be levied.
- Additionally, Dr Mphelo and his team operate a General Practitioner (GP) Practice in town situated at Lephalale Crossing (Lethabong Medical Centre). The practice operating hours are from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. The hours of practice will soon be expanded to include certain hours during weekends.
- Consultation fees for the GP Practice range from R320 including basic medication.
“The Management and Staff of Mediclinic Lephalale strive to provide quality health care at an affordable rate,” says Dalene du Plessis, Hospital Manager.
