Bossie leaders announced

LEPHALALE — John C Maxwell once said: “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.”

Leané Snyman (Head Girl 2019), Louwtjie Pretorius (Principal) and Divan Gerber (Head Boy)

This was the theme of the Student Council Initiation of Laerskool Bosveld Primary, held in the school hall on Monday night 29 October.

Wilmari du Preez, Head Girl 2018, opened the event and Louwtjie Pretorius, Principal, welcomed every learner and parent who attended this special occasion. He wished the Student Council for 2019 all the best with the important year that lies ahead.

The announcement of Head Leaders and Portfolio Chair Persons was done by Pretorius.

The Academics Committee: Dhania, Bezuidenhout, Charne Esmeraldo, Amahle Gouws, Kayla Human, Marubini Lekgau, Kelly Lewis-Enright, Dikeledi Mamafu and Wihann Smith.

Cultural: Dawn Engelbrecht, Joshua Potgieter, Leané Snyman, Michelle Miller, Morgan-Lee Muller, Somila Grubuza and Timothy Moraba.

Sports: Derik Besseling, Xilombe Bvuma, Precious Mamabolo, Elani Neethling, Tamia Oakes, Tia Oakes and Albert von Ronge.

Functions, Funding and Caring: Aimee de Beer, Christoff Erasmus, Dimpho Mabotja, Kailey Smith, Megan Kirby, Samuel Leahy and Sarah Smith.

Order and Discipline: Anray Claasen, Divan Gerber, Zelri Goewdhardt, Hanno Kay, Kenny Matloga, Gert Pretorius and Timmy Smith.

The Student Council Guardians are Meraai Grove, Sonja van Deventer, Charlie Brandt and Zirk Buys.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Head Boy and Head Girl for 2019 – Divan Gerber and Leané Snyman.

Both Gerber and Leané thanked their Heavenly Father as well as their parents for bringing them to where they are today.

“We are looking forward to working with the learners, with perseverance, respect, loyalty and honesty,” they concluded.

Ruan Mostert, Head Boy 2018, closed the event.

After a night filled with great surprises and a lot of anticipation and excitement, members of the Student Council and their parents were treated with delicious refreshments and drinks.
