LEPHALALE — Over the course of October, Buco geared up for World Food Day on 16 October.
World Food Day is a global day of action created against hunger by the United Nations in 1979.
“This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on as many people in need in and around our community by donating Non-perishable food, such as canned food.
“The success of our initiative to collect canned food (non-perishables) and the distribution of it to the less fortunate was completely reliant on the support of all our valued customers, friends and family,” said Maik Fenner, manager at Buco Lephalale.
Lizette Perrier received the non-perishable items on behalf of “Huis Matoppi” and Abraham Kriel Orphanage.
BUCO also surprised Josephine and the residents of the local shelter home with a nutritious meal for dinner.
“Let’s make World Food Day a catalyst for ongoing change around the globe,” Fenner said.
