LEPHALALE — A Volkswagen Polo burned down on Tuesday morning 5 July on the Marken Road (R518).
According to W.O. Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, the vehicle was already on fire when the police arrived at the scene and a paramedic from ER24 was busy examining the driver of the car for injuries.
W.O. Mokoena said the driver explained that he was travelling to Lephalale around 04:00 when an animal crossed the road in front of him. He swerved to avoid the animal and hit a marula tree.
The driver was taken to Mediclinic Lephalale as he was complaining about his knees being injured.
The Polo (DJS 191 L) was removed from the scene later during the morning by JD Towing.
