LEPHALALE — One woman is dead and one seriously injured when the red Polo Vivo they were driving in, crashed into a Marula tree next to the R518 (Marken Road) on Sunday 28 April around 07:30 about 6 km from Lephalale.
According to Police, they were on their way to Marapong from Abbotspoort when the driver of the vehicle, Maputa Matome (24) from Marapong, allegedly lost control of the car and it hit the tree in full force. The Polo was ripped in two by the massive impact. Matome, originally from Bochum, was the only member of the family left after her mother, father and sister died.
The 33-year-old Anna Molekoa, (originally from Abbotspoort) a resident from Marapong, was seriously injured and taken to Ellisras District Hospital.
A case of culpable homicide was opened at Lephalale SAPS, and the investigation continues.
