Cattle theft suspect in court

VILLA NORA — Three livestock theft suspects, Jankey Shiko (49), Johannes Moetlo (22) and Lesley Shiko (22) appeared in the Phalala Magistrate’s Court last week after the investigation of Warrant Officer Sello Gert Magwai of Lephalale Stock Theft Unit led to successful arrests.

According the Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster Spokesperson, the arrests were made after information was received that seven Bonsmara cattle were stolen from Naladi Farm in Marken on Tuesday 15 May.

It was alleged that the three suspects sold the cattle, to an estimated value of R60 000, to a farmer.

The stolen cattle were identified by their owner after he was informed that they were found.
