Church Street pink for cancer

The residents of Church Street in Lephalale Town wrapped all the trees along Church Street in Lephalale Town in pink to raise cancer awareness. This initiative is called “Pink Trees for Pauline”.

“Pink trees for Pauline” is an initiative that arose in 2012 after Carol-Ann van Jaarsveld lost her mother and grandmother (both Pauline) to cancer.

Carol-Ann, Adri van Nieuwenhuizen – a breast cancer survivor and Dr Pam Kerr, an Educational Psychologist officially founded the organisation “Pink Trees for Pauline”.

The purposes of the initiative are to create awareness, unite communities and raise money for those affected by cancer in a uniquely inspired way by turning towns pink!
