LEPHALALE — The management of Lephalale SPCA encourages all pet owners to contact the SPCA with details of lost pets as soon as possible. Pound fees if your lost pet comes through the SPCA are R150. The pound fee is necessary to help them with the daily running of the SPCA and to be able to feed and take care of your lost pet while he is with them.
If the animal is not claimed within the first 24 hours additional boarding fees of R80 for large dogs and R50 for small dogs and cats per night will be added.
The SPCA have a pound period of 10 days to give responsible owners enough time to report and claim their lost pets. After this period the animal becomes the property of the SPCA and can he be put up for adoption. Should you as owner claim your animal after the 10 days has passed, you will have to legally adopt your pet from the SPCA.
Adoption fees are R900 for large dogs, R600 for small dogs and R500 for cats. The price includes sterilization and de-worming of the pet. Please note that the SPCA do not have the facilities to do the sterilisation, they take the pets to a veterinarian for the sterilization procedure and they pay the same amount as any other community member.
Lephalale SPCA covers a very wide area in the Waterberg, including Modimolle, Bela-Bela, Thabazimbi and surrounding areas.
