Criminal removed for life

On Friday 18 March Freedom Tokologo Khutso Matlou (23) a resident from Spook Park outside Polokwane, was sentenced by the Polokwane High Court to a consolidated jail term of five life sentences plus 12 years and six months’ imprisonment for ten criminal offences categorized as follows:
– Five years of life imprisonment for five rape cases; ten years imprisonment for two cases of kidnapping, two years imprisonment for house breaking and theft and six months imprisonment for malicious damage to property.
The accused terrorised members of the community between the 2012 and 2016 at Makgofe, Mmotong Wa Perekisi and Spook Park Villages in the Seshego Policing area outside Polokwane.
He attacked young children between the ages of three and 16 years old while on their way to and from school. He would threaten them with a knife and drag them to his home where he raped them and later robbed them of their cell phones.
The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed this long jail term and he encouraged the detectives to double their efforts in removing the criminals from the streets to avoid the actions these repeat offenders perpetrate within the society.
The General assured all the citizens of this Province that the SAPS is determined to fight crime affecting woman and children without mercy or compromise.
The General also congratulated members of the community for their unwavering support of the Police and on the quality of reliable information they give and he encouraged them to continue to do so.
