Drunk driving doesn’t pay

LEPHALALE — The driver of a vehicle with a Mpumalanga registration number allegedly tried to outrun traffic officers on Sunday 23 April after he failed to stop at a stop sign.
He lost control and hit an oncoming vehicle.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena from Lephalale SAPS, the driver was caught around 12:30 in J Louis Botha Street in Lephalale town. He was screened and found to be under the influence of alcohol at a reading of 0.37%.
He faces cases of reckless and negligent driving and drunken driving at Lephalale SAPS.
