LEPHALALE — March Tauwanda Trust (29) escaped from Lephalale Police holding cells on Sunday 10 February around 17:00.
According to Colonel Daniel Ramakgoakgoa, Lephalale SAPS Station Commander, Trust was walking from the charge office to the holding cells at the back of the station when he shook his leg cuffs off and started to run. He jumped the back fence and hasn’t been seen since.
He is currently facing eight charges of housebreaking in Lephalale.
Col Ramakgoakgoa says there is a lot of speculation about the fact that he could so easily escape his leg cuffs and that they might have been unlocked, but it is being investigated.
Lephalale Police appeal to the community to assist them with discovering the whereabouts of Trust.
