LEPHALALE — A fire accident occurred on Wednesday 21 March 2018 at the Grootegeluk Reductants plant in Lephalale, Limpopo.
The fire was brought under control with assistance from fire units from both Matimba and Medupi Power Stations.
Commenting on the incident Executive Head Stakeholder Affairs, Mzila Mthenjane, said the safety of the employees is their number one priority and they are pleased that there were no injuries to employees from the accident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by both the DMR and an operation’s multidisciplinary team consisting of Safety and Health and Engineering specialists.
There were no disruptions to the Coal operations.
