The Police in Dennilton have opened a case of murder after the Station Commander of Groblersdal, the 57-year-old Colonel Lebyane Jeffrey Seroka, was shot and killed in front of his house. The incident happened at Mmaganagobuswa Village around 04:30 on Saturday 17 October.
The unknown suspect(s) took his motor vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux, and fled the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned along the Dennilton-Maklerekeng road.
Preliminary Police investigations revealed that the late Col Seroka woke up early Saturday morning and prepared to go to a funeral. He left his house around 04:30 to leave for the funeral and was shot dead in front of his gate.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has instructed the police to work hard to make sure the killers are hunted down and brought to book. All the necessary and available resources have been mobilized to implement the 72-hour Activation Plan towards the apprehension of the suspect(s).
The motive for this killing was unknown at the time of going to print, but Police investigations continue.
