LEPHALALE — Silas Mashala (27), Pieter Schutte (62), Lebohang Rapetswa (24) and Zwelithe Khumalo (36) appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 15 October after they were arrested following a raid at the Phalala Private Vehicle Testing Station outside Lephalale on the R33.
They were caught issuing roadworthy certificates for vehicles they did not physically examine and arrested by die Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI).
Mashala, Schutte and Rapetswa, who are believed to be repeat offenders, were granted bail of R2 500 each due to them being arrested on similar charges in April this year when they were released on R1 000 bail each.
Khumalo was granted bail of R1 000 as it was his first offence.
The case was postponed to 12 November 2019.
