Fraudsters are everywhere

LEPHALALE — Brigadier John Masia, Lephalale SAPS Cluster Commander, appeals to the community of Lephalale and surrounds to be on the look-out for fraudsters.
According to police reports more than six cases of fraud were opened over the weekend of 6 May.
“People are still robbed of hard earned money by falling for scams on web sites like OLX where you buy something, transfer the money via electronic transfer and never receive the item that you bought. Never transfer money via electronic banking or any other way if you are not sure about the destination” he warned.
Masia also urge community members to report lost ID’s because criminals use false ID’s to commit crime.
“Illegal immigrants are also hiring rooms or flats without having the money to pay the rent. If someone wants to hire a room from you, make sure that he or she has a permanent job with a salary before you allow them to hire” Masia concluded.
