Good prices at Thaba auction

THABAZIMBI — On Wednesday 22 March 2017 Thabazimbi Wildlife Services took a step in a new direction and held their own auction with Corne du Plessis from CdP Auctioneering as their independent auctioneer.
The year kicked off with a hunting auction, from which local hunters and hunters coming from as far afield as Tosca and Cradock left with animals of outstanding quality.
The energy that Corne brings with him could be felt from the first bid in an action-packed auction where the bidding was fast and competitive.
The following average prices were achieved on male animals: Black Springbuck R4 500; Blesbuck R2 900; White Blesbuck R4 640; Blue Wildebeest R4 500; Buffalo R98 800; Eland R14 000; Golden Wildebeest R35 000; Impala R2 180; Kudu R17 315; Nyala R9 981; Gemsbuck
R7 100; Red Hartebeest R7 250; Roan R45 000; Sable R35 000; Springbuck R3 500; Tsessebe R15 000; Waterbuck R12 250 and Zebra R4 250.
A good price of R48 000 was achieved on a Golden Wildebeest which is a clear indication that colour variants have also found their place in the hunting industry.
