VILLA NORA — An inquest case was opened at Villa Nora SAPS on Tuesday 3 April when the 67 year old Phillop Kgola died. According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena from Lephalale Cluster, community members allegedly saw him next to the street, struggling to wake up. He was allegedly vomiting through his mouth and nose after he was laid down in the shade. Witpoort EMS was called and he was certified dead on their arrival.
A rape case was also reported at Villa Nora SAPS on Monday 2 April.
According to WO Mokoena, the 25 year old victim was walking home from a tavern in the early morning hours of Monday 2 April. She met a man on her way home who assaulted her and threatened her with a knife. He ordered her to go to his home where he raped her twice. At 05:00 Monday morning, he ordered her to go back to her home.
The suspect was still at large at the time of going to print.
