LEPHALALE — On Thursday 8 October around 15:00, the 34-year-old Constable Mologadi Jessica Raganya, shot and killed her husband. She the attempted to kill her daughter before she shot herself. Raganya was stationed at Lephalale SAPS.
According to Police, Raganya had an argument with her 34-year-old husband, Papakhulo Neville Mogata, at their home in Kloppenheim Flats in Onverwacht. She fatally shot him nine times with her service pistol.
She then drove to Ga-Mokaba in Mokopane where she burnt their house. She called the police to inform them about the shooting incident at Kloppenheim and promised to hand herself over. She, however, drove to Mamelodi East in Pretoria where she shot her 18-year-old daughter. Raganya thereafter shot herself in the head. She passed away – leaving her daughter seriously wounded.
Police in Lephalale are investigating a murder case, Mahwelereng SAPS are investigating a case of attempted murder and an inquest case was opened at Mamelodi East SAPS.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating the case.
