VILLA NORA — Abraham Lelaka (53) was sentenced to life imprisonment in Lephalale’s Regional Court on Tuesday 30 October for raping a ten-year-old girl. The rape case was opened at Villa Nora SAPS on 8 April 2017.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS Cluster spokesperson, Lelaka took the child into her grandmother’s shack where he raped her. She was playing in the street in Vienna Village before he lured her to the shack.
WO Mokoena said he was caught in the act by the girl’s grandmother who went to the shack while he was busy raping the girl.
The case was investigated by Detective Constable Frans Thulare from the Lephalale family violence child protection and sexual offences unit.
