Marapong Health Centre operates

MARAPONG — Marapong Community Health Centre – previously known as Mediclinic Marapong, was bought by Exxaro and upgraded by Eskom Medupi to conform to the standards set by the Department of Health for a community health centre.
These upgrades were completed towards the end of 2016 and the Marapong Community Health Centre started operating in March 2017. At the moment services are only available to patients on a 12 hour basis.
According to Jacques Snyman from the Lephalale Development Forum (LDF) plans to extend these services to a 24 hour service are underway and driven by the Department of Health.
“This is an example of what can be achieved when all stakeholders in the area work together towards the same goal – creating facilities that benefit our local communities” Snyman added.
This project was made possible through the cooperation between the Lephalale Local Municipality, Department of Health, Exxaro, Eskom Medupi and Mediclinic Lephalale.
