VAALWATER —The Waterberg Academy in Vaalwater recently competed in the Limpopo Spur School MTB League, which is held over four separate races, over two months, at different venues throughout the province. Thirteen learners from the school participated, twelve from the primary school and one representative from the high school.
Consistent and dedicated training throughout the season yielded amazing progress from all the riders and some outstanding overall results.
Constant podiums were achieved at every race in the different age categories, with two of the learners, Carla Janse van Vuuren and Bradley Eagar, earning their Limpopo School Colours.
Carla came first overall, Bradley second and Waterberg Academy learners achieved several top five overall placements in the Limpopo school series.
These achievements resulted in Waterberg Academy, with only a handful of learners comparatively, achieving eighth position in the Primary School category overall, out of 24 schools, and ninth in the High School category, out of 20 schools.
Waterberg Academy’s position in the high school league can be attributed to the performance by Livingston Banda, who has been selected to represent the province in the upcoming High School National finals.
Congratulations to all the riders on their achievements.
