GA-SELEKA — A 44 year old man was arrested on Monday following a stabbing in a tavern in Ga-Seleka. He allegedly stabbed another man with a knife on Sunday morning around 01:50.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, the suspect approached two men in front of the tavern on Saturday night, asking them for a cigarette. He left after they gave him the cigarette, but he came back later, went into the tavern, pulled out a knife, and stabbed the 31 year old victim. The victim died on the scene and the police were called.
The suspect appeared in Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 17 October on a case of murder per CAS23/10/2016.
At the time of going to press, W.O. Mokoena said another suspect was arrested in connection with this case, but he could not confirm any details.
