WITPOORT — The Police in Witpoort are investigating a case of a murder committed on Saturday 17 August around 05:00.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Police Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged that the 36-year-old Kedibone Moatshe, residing in Mokopane, was on his way to Ga-Seleka with friends on Saturday when one of his friends went to a group of people to ask for a cigarette. They heard a gunshot, and everyone started running. Moatshe was later found by his friends lying down with a gun wound on the side of his head.
The police were called to the scene, and after investigation, they determined that the Rossi revolver (serial number WO 32671) with which Moatshe was shot, was in Radibaki David Seleka’s possession. Police also confirmed that the revolver belonged to the late Andre Diamond, born in 1954.
Seleka was arrested, and he appeared in the Phalala Magistrate’s Court on Monday 19 August. The case was first postponed to 26 August and then to 29 August for a formal bail application. He remains in custody.
