LEPHALALE — The manhole in Fox Odendaal Street in front of Jorico’s has been overflowing since the start of January. Apart from the terrible smell and the health hazard, a hole has been cut in the tar road which can be dangerous.
Mogol Pos asked Lephalale Municipality for their comment a week ago and they said they are aware of the problem and are working on it. Then it seemed as if they found a solution, but only for a day or two. On Tuesday morning the whole of Fox Odendaal street was flooded with sewage which came pouring out of the manhole.
On enquiry to the Department of Sanitation at Lephalale Municipality they said that the Municipality started last week with the process of cutting the tar road in order to get to the source of the problem. The TLB is currently occupied at a site near the TVET College where the team is working to fix a burst sewage pipe. As soon as the task is completed, the TLB will be moved to the site near Jorico’s.
The municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused and are working towards resolving the matter.
