LEPHALALE — Members of Lephalale SAPS carried out Operation High Density on Friday 24 June. The operation kicked off with a parade at the HRD Police training centre after which they searched the area “Plastic View” next to Lephalale Provincial Hospital.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Police spokesperson, they arrested 53 illegal Zimbabweans from the area and had to take ten infants who were with their mothers. W.O. Mokoena says one of the Zimbabweans was also charged with the possession of dagga, another one was charged for selling liquor without a licence and another one for selling liquor to people under age. The operation continued on to the Schaapplaats area and according to W.O. Mokoena, it was a very successful operation.
