LEPHALALE — A woman was overpowered by three men and robbed of her mobile phone at about 07:00 near the SPCA on Wednesday morning 17 February. She was on her way to work in Grootfontein holdings.
According to her employer, who wishes to remain anonymous, the woman had no money with her and the men were very angry about it. At least one of the three men was armed.
W.O. Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS spokesperson, warned the community to be alert at all times, because in cases where criminals do not get what they want – like money – there is a possibility that they will be on the lookout for another victim. Women on their way to work early in the morning are soft targets, Mokoena says.
