LEPHALALE — Three of the four suspects who were arrested in regards with an armed robbery of PEP Stores Lephalale on 31 October, appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court last week.
They face charges of possession of suspected stolen goods at Hoopdal SAPS and armed robbery at Lephalale SAPS.
The case was postponed to Monday 18 November for formal bail application. Skumbuso Ncube (38), Dumisani Moyo (30) and Lungile Sibanda (27) remain in custody and the fourth suspect, Jimmy Khumalo (33), is still in the hospital.
They were arrested on the R510 after Police members got suspicious when they noticed the Toyota Quantum that was reported as the vehicle being involved in an armed robbery earlier on Thursday. They tried to drive away from the police and later fled on foot, but they were arrested after Police called for assistance.
Many stolen cell phones, as well as three weapons, were found in their possession. Police confiscated the Quantum and stolen items.
