LEPHALALE — Three of the accused in the murder case of Piet (Vink) Pieterse in February 2017, Phuti Phineas Molangoane (38), Joel Thaluki Mashaba (36) and Thapelo Mosamai (28) appeared in Lephalale Circuit High Court on Thursday 30 January 2020. The case was postponed to 27 July 2020 when they will appear in the Polokwane High Court.
The fourth suspect, Tshepo Justice Rasodi (27), did not show up for the first court appearance on Wednesday 29 January, and Police could not get hold of him. His cell phone was switched off, and he was not at the address given to the court.
A warrant of arrest was issued against him, and his bail was cancelled. Rasodi was previously granted bail of R1 000 in the Polokwane High Court.
Mashaba was granted bail of R5 000, and Motsamai was granted bail of R1 000 in the Polokwane High Court earlier.
Molangoane was denied bail as he is also facing other charges and escape for lawful custody. He remains in custody.
