LEPHALALE — Members of Lephalale SAPS Cluster took part in a Wellness Day, offered by Polmed, on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 July at Lephalale HRD.
According to Alida Pienaar, communication officer at Polmed Head Office, who was responsible for running the event, this initiative taken by Polmed is to look after the health of members of SAPS. “This event is free for all SAPS members and registered dependents” she says.
The tests included testing vitals such as body mass, cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes and voluntary HIV tests.
The aim of the event was to ensure the wellbeing of the members and to refer them to other doctors if necessary. Pienaar says it also gave them a chance to see if the members use their medication correctly.
This year’s event was for preventive health care with the focus on dental care, oral hygiene and cancer awareness.
