Public speakers of note

LEPHALALE — Hoërskool Ellisras hosted it’s inter house English Public Speaking competition on Thursday 21 July. The choice of judges were a surprise. Mrs. Petronel Cronje (van der Merwe) was the head girl of Hoërskool Ellisras in 1998. She obtained distinctions in all her subjects and was on the Culture Committee for three years. She is currently a lawyer and married to a reverend, Jaco Cronje.
The second judge was Franciska de Beer, also previously from Hoërskool Ellisras. She was the Culture Committee Chairperson for 2012 and in her matric year the Culture Personality of the Year. She took part in public speaking and debate and is currently a final year pharmacy student at North West University. She is still part of her hostel’s debate team that was awarded the best debate team for the year.
The third judge was Mr. Mike Molekoa, a much respected Maths teacher in the country.
