R800 000 stolen — employees guilty

LEPHALALE — A crime intelligence driven joint operation by members of Lephalale CIS and Lephalale SAPS Cluster Task Team was conducted in Marapong and Onverwacht last week following the theft of cash and goods to the value of R800 000 from a well-known cellular shop in Lephalale CBD.
Three suspects, namely Zubar Al Hussan (28), Zulgarnain Haider (32) and Florence Komape were arrested during the operation.
According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale SAPS Spokesperson, the three suspects were employees at the cellular shop. The fourth suspect, Mohammed Khan (47), was arrested in Ulundi in Kwazulu-Natal.
They allegedly were already in a routine of depositing the stolen money into Kahn’s bank account.
R250 000 and eleven cell phones were recovered and the suspects appeared before Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 25 July on a charge of theft. The case was postponed to Thursday 27 July.
