LEPHALALE — A rape case was opened at Lephalale SAPS after a woman was allegedly raped on a farm outside Lephalale on Thursday 4 April 2019 around 10:30.
The complainant alleged that she was in her room on the farm, having a bath, when a man who is known to her, a Zimbabwean citizen, came into the room with a knife in his hand. He pushed her on the bed and raped her.
Her husband came into the room who caught the suspect in the act. He started fighting the suspect, but the suspect managed to escape.
According to Colonel Daniel Ramakgoakgoa, Lephalale SAPS Station Commander, the suspect ran to the villages near Ga-Shongoane. Detectives pursued him and brought him back to the station.
He appeared in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Friday 5 April and the case was postponed. He was denied bail.
