Robbed of 2 cell phones, wallet

LEPHALALE — A case of house robbery was opened at Lephalale SAPS after a man was robbed at his home in Arend Street.

According to Warrant Officer Frans Mokoena, Lephalale Cluster spokesperson, it is alleged that the complainant, a maintenance officer at Lephalale Magistrate’s Court, and his family, were sleeping in their home when he woke up and saw two suspects in the house.

WO Mokoena says they gained entrance to the house by forcing open a burglar bar in the kitchen.

One of the suspects was armed with a sledge and used it to assault the complainant on his head.

They got away with two cell phones and his wallet. There was no cash in his wallet.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and detectives were dispatched to the scene for further investigation.
