Robbery at guesthouse

LEPHALALE — Two people were overpowered and robbed by two unknown suspects at a guest house in Ellis Street, Lephalale on Saturday morning 13 April around 02:00.

According to Colonel Daniel Ramakgoakgoa, Lephalale SAPS Station Commander, the complainant, a 54-year-old security officer at the guest house, alleged that he was on duty when two unknown suspects, wearing balaclavas and carrying a golf club and a screwdriver, ordered him to wake up his female co-worker.

They then ordered the two of them to open all the rooms so that they could take the plasma TV’s. Only one room and the office were opened and two plasma TV’s, four cell phones and a wallet containing R300 were taken. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

The investigation continues.
