LEPHALALE — Lephalale Primary (LP) started putting together rugby teams and training them from last year. Kenneth Modimola who used to run onto the field for Ellisras High School and Jack Lamola who attended Tom Naude High School are both currently involved at SrixZone as coaches and took it upon themselves to sharpen the rugby skills of the learners at Lephalale Primary. They are of the opinion that there is a lot of hidden talent in these leaners and that with hard work and commitment they can excel not only in the arena of rugby but of life in general. There are currently three teams, a u.9, u.10 and a senior team.
The school does not have the necessary equipment for the leaners and so the owners of Mopani Bande decided to invest in this young school. Werner Erasmus, manager at Mopani Bande, arrived at the school last week with a bakkie load of equipment which he handed over to the school.
Salphina Lepepe is the school’s rugby organiser and said that they are very grateful for this big present and said to the smiling learners that they will have to respect and take care of the equipment.
School headmaster Mr. Petrus Maboga expressed his joy and thankfulness for the gift and said tongue in cheek: “We just need the poles now.”
